Above are the links that i used in the production of my evaluation. They are all in order. My evaluation shows the process that i went through and the decisions that i made. I talk about why i chose what i did, what/who influenced my magazine and all about codes and conventions. I also looked at the target audience for my product, how social groups can be represented,, media institution, technologies that i used and preliminary tasks. This all helped with the process to creating my end product.

Final Magazine

Here is my final magazine. I have done all of the improvements asked and i have also changed everything that i should have. In my evaluation where i talk about the construction of my magazine.  I believe that from my draft i have also implemented a lot more changes that have made my magazine a lot more like a magazine, it looks a lot more like a rap magazine and everything fits and matches. 

Drafting and planning- Draft after peer marked

Here is my final draft where i tried to complete everything that my teacher and peers told me however i did not complete some things and i am not fully happy with it. I needed to change the font of the words 'Malik Forrester' under the picture of the boy on the bottom left of the contents page and i also needed to write the boys name in the top right picture. 
I changed the background to black but there is still a lot of blank space. Therefore i need to change this for my final Magazine. 

Organisation- Picture for double page spread

For my contents i firstly used a picture of the girl in her school uniform and the picture was not of a good quality and it also did not have a good quality to it. Therefore i took better picture of her in a cap where she looks more like the character i created for her on the front. 

Drafting and planning- Draft

This is my draft magazine. I presented them all in front of my class and they gave me a lot of constructive criticism. They let me know that there was a lot of negative space and that some of the cover lines were not easy to read. therefore that i needed to change the colour of my writing or the wallpaper. The writing that went over my contents page image was also seen as a negative as it did not look like a contents page. My peers also suggested that i make the girl on the double page spread smaller and put the other girl off the main image on the other side and this was very useful criticism. 
My teacher then also gave me some criticism that i need to remove 1st from the date line and i also need to get rid of the negative space. I also need to include reviews on my contents and link my contents, front page and double page spread together for example have on the contents about the Vixxens then put a page number and put the page number on the double page spread. 

Organisation- Main image

This is the image i have chosen for my main image. It is against a white background so that it is easy to crop out. The girl on the left is pulling up her collar; this makes her look cool and gives her edge also the expression on her face looks as though she is ready and serious. The girl on the right is leaning to the side and pulling her chain out her mouth. This gives off a rebellious feel and could therefore draw in my target market of teens that enjoy rap in even more. 

Organisation- Main image finals

These are the main image finals. I had to choose out of these which one i would use in my final main image. I choose to have the second image down. The reason for this is that the amount of attitude they are giving off is perfect. I love the way the girl on the right is biting the chain this gives a feeling of rebellion and adds to the freshness of the magazine.  
The girls are also dressed in clothes that can be associated with rappers such as Iggy Azalea. Giving them a ready fresh rappers look. 

Organisation- Cover stars

This is going to be one of my cover photos, I like the picture because it has a wall back ground however as my main image has a wall background therefor I can not do the same. I will crop the photo out and have against a white background. I will also not have his whole body and i will have it as a close up of his face. 

Organisation- Shots I took for my magazine

These are a few shots that I took of a potential picture for my contents page or for my double page spread. This is one of the Vixxen twins that will be my main image. I practiced taking photos in all different places at different angles. The lighting in some is to dim or to bright. The one with her hood up is slightly blury and I want the image to be very clear therfpr it is not a image that i will be using. 

Drafting and planning- What will be in my double page spread

In my double page spread i will write about the interview but i will not write it as an interview. I will include quotes and have it in three different columns so that it is laid out like a stereotypical music magazine. 
The quotes will be larger than the rest of the writing i will also include the body language of the twins and their facial expressions so that the reader can uncover feelings that they would not get out of just reading the interview or about it.

drafting and planning- Practice draft

Here i have used a main image by having the background behind the mast head and then i have put the main image in front of the mast head. I have placed the three in front of the masthead and i did this by getting a picture  off Google, placing it down, then i put the mast head on. After this i put the three already cropped artists on the front. I have decided that this is how i want my final magazine to look like. 

Organisation- Props

I am not going to need any props in my images. The people in my magazine are going to be dressed well and they are not going to have any props. However i think it is important that my main image is against a brick wall and i need to make sure that i take the picture of the wall and then the two girls. This is because i want it to go wall, mast head and then main image in that order of layers.

Organisation- Planning for photo shoots

I have chosen what my models have to wear for media. They will wear rough cloths and stereotypical hip hop baggy clothes.

This is the type of model that i want on the front of my magazine. I have already decided that my models (my sisters) will wear jeans and baggy tops and one of them will wear a hat. I have also decided to take the picture against the wall of my house. It is a rough wall and not perfect therefor i think this will be the perfect background for my magazine!

Drafting and planning- Potential colour schemes

I am using dark colours for my colour scheme. I have chosen to do a rap magazine and after looking at other rap magazines i have found that all the colors are dark. And i am going to conform to these conventions. I am going to use colours such as red, black, grey  and brown and if i do use other colours then i will use them but it will be a dull shade of this colour. I think that dark colours will be better as bright colours are usually associated with pop magazines. I also think that darker writing and colours will make my main image stand out more as there will be some colour in the main image.

Interview

Interview with me and the Vixxen twins, Tina and Kelly.

Me: Hello girls, I would love to know why you both started rapping?

Tina: Well when we was yunga we never had the best life. We was always struggling to find money for food and clothes. It hasn’t been easy for us growing up.

Kelly: And that’s what we rap about, we rap about things we have been through and the bad things still happening in the world today.

Me: Interesting, how long have you been rapping for?

Tina: Well for as long as I can remember we have been scribbling words down and now both of us being only 20 there’s always room for learning something new about rap.

Kelly: Yeah some people seem to forget that were so young and some wouldn’t believe the problems we have, but I guess that’s life ennit.

Me: If you had to describe each other’s personalities what would you say?

Kelly: Well Tina likes to take charge and think she knows best, I’d rather keep my head down.

Tina: No I am in charge ha-ha nah but Kelly is the brains behind the writing, she can put anything into a rap in seconds and it will reach number one straight away.

Me: You girls seem to love rapping, is there anything else that you like to do In your spare time?

Tina: Yeah course there is.

Kelly: There’s a lot more to us than our music talents.

Tina: We like to.

Kelly: Cut shapes out on the town.

Tina: Were just like every other young person we like to eat…a lot, watch T.V, chill with our friends all that.

Me: Sounds like fun, have you got any upcoming tours, wed all love to know

Both laugh

Tina: We have one very soon, were touring all over the U.K this summer, so watch out.

Me: This summer that’s soon! I’d like to talk more about your past, you talk about struggles and that’s what you rap about what kind of struggles?

Tina: Well we don’t know our mom.

Kelly: Yeah we were bought up by our dad.

Tina: We never knew our mom so there’s nothing to miss about her though. Our dad found it hard to cope with us all.

Me: Us all? What do you mean?

Tina: Well out other brothers and sisters.

Kelly: Our older brother and sister knew my mom because they were older when she left. Then we have our other brother who isn’t much older than us and he doesn’t remember her. Our younger brothers don’t remember her either.

Tina: Our older brother and sister were affected a lot when she left and they don’t talk about it. They both got into drugs but it’s getting better now as my sister is over half a year clean and our brother is in rehab.

Me: How awful, I have listened to your songs before and there’s a lot more to the story than that.

Tina: yeah there is.

Kelly: We don’t want to discuss it. If you wanna know like you said listen to our music.

Me: Okay girls, it was lovely to talk to you.

This forms the frame work for my double page spread and gives me an idea of what i will write about the artists.

These are the final three that i have chosen. I have choose to call my magazine FLARE. I have chosen this because it is different and original. Gives my magazine that 'flare' that others do not have. 
Here is the font that i will use this font is bold and will stand out. 

Drafting and planning- ideas for fonts

I have looked at a lot of different fonts that i would use for the words understatement that could be on my C.D. I want the text to be edgy and different because i want it to reflect the personality that i am giving to the main artists on my magazine.

Organisation- Supporting artists/cover stars

Inside my magazine i will make sure that i include different cover stars. I will have two cover stars and i will feature pictures of them in my contents page. By doing this it means that all of my magazine will link together. The people in my cover lines will be related to my contents page.

Firstly for names i looked over my suggestions from my early blog posts and cut it down to two options.

The girls are rappers and the name of there act will be there actual names and therefor i need to think of what they can be called. After looking at the suggestions and choosing from two i have decided to call them
Vixxen
The two are sisters and therefor share there last names. I think this is a good  name that will be remembered and catchy which is what i want for my magazine.I have decided to use just this because this will be there last name
